Converse started in 1908 as the Converse Bubber Shoe Company, in 1910, they were producing 4,000 pairs of shoes on a daily basis.That is a huge figure.In 1917,converse produced its first pair of All-star basketball shoes and then employed Chuck Taylor who designed the classic converse Chuck Taylor All Star shoe.
